The ABB (formerly Petercem/Bailey) EM010-9317 is a high-performance, calibrated Closed Loop Hall Effect Voltage Sensor. It is specifically designed for the precise measurement of DC, AC, and pulsating voltages in demanding industrial and railway environments. Utilizing fully electronic technology, it provides galvanic isolation between the primary high-voltage circuit and the secondary low-voltage measurement circuit, ensuring both high accuracy and safety.

Important Considerations

  • Polarity Sensitivity: Ensure correct polarity when connecting the primary high-voltage terminals (+HT and -HT) and the dual DC power supply. Reversed supply polarity is generally protected but should be avoided.

  • Thermal Management: While the sensor has low thermal drift, it should be installed in an area with adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup from affecting long-term accuracy.

  • Enclosure Requirements: The sensor's protection rating is typically intended for use within an electrical cabinet or protected enclosure to prevent contamination from conductive dust or moisture.

  • Load Resistance: The measuring resistance (RM) connected to terminal M must stay within the manufacturer's specified range to ensure the sensor stays within its linear operating region.

  • Safety Protocol: High voltages up to 2250 V may be present at the primary terminals. Always de-energize the system before installation or maintenance.
